ARTISTIC DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

Dear Friends of the Coast Recital Society

Dear Friends of the Coast Recital Society,

The Coast Recital Society is dedicated to the presentation of the finest recitals and chamber music for Sunshine Coast audiences. After an enforced hiatus due to the covid pandemic, we are thrilled to be presenting concerts again, albeit a little differently than we have done in the past. Our tradition of excellence remains unchanged.

The pandemic forced all of us to develop new habits and gave us time to look at old ones. Many of us took technological leaps in order to stay connected and safe. We will continue to utilize some of these procedures to maintain efficiency. You will notice that much of our formerly printed material is now available online. We have exchanged our physical office for remote working spaces, (although contact information for the CRS remains the same).

Artists this year include both soloists and ensembles, established musicians as well as those at an early stage of their career. Programming covers a broad range of repertoire – much that is familiar, but also compositions that may well be a discovery for our audience. Artistic merit is always the guiding principle.

Our musical footprint extends well beyond the stage. The CRS Artists in the Community outreach program continues to bring our superb musicians to eldercare residences and to youth. Outstanding performances for seniors offer a connection to the outside world. We organize master-classes, workshops, and an annual scholarship program for students studying classical music.

Donations from subscribers, sponsors, and various levels of government remain vital to the wellbeing of the CRS. We thank you for your support of live classical music on the Sunshine Coast.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 CRS concert season.
