Winner of the silver medal and the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2015, Charles Richard-Hamelin has received the Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec. In 2022, he received the Denise-Pelletier Prize, the highest distinction awarded by the Quebec government in the performing arts – the youngest winner in the history of the Prix du Québec. Charles has played all over the world – at the Prague Spring Festival, the Chopin and his Europe Festival in Warsaw, the Lanaudière Festival and the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest. He’s been a soloist with every major Canadian orchestra, as well as with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Les Violons du Roy and I Musici de Montréal. He’s picked up Six Félix Awards (ADISQ) and a JUNO (2022) in recognition of his superb recordings
