“fearless and exciting program(ming)…” – Friends of Chamber Music

Artistic Director Emeritus Frances Wainwright instigated the formation of this trio in 2021 when all three were on faculty at UBC (Marina has since moved on to teach at McGill). They were close friends on and off the stage and adopted the name Garibaldi Trio after the mountain in the backcountry area where they enjoyed hiking. They were such a hit, they were invited back in 2024 with a program that included a brand new work by Steven Chatman commissioned by the CRS – a first for us, and a huge hit with the audience. They return next season with yet another CRS-commissioned premiere by Dorothy Chang. This concert serves as the official launch of their first CD – a recording that includes both the Chatman and the Chang. Yay for us!
